Victrex are recruiting a Senior Technical Services Engineer to deliver proactive and reactive technical support within the European region.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• You will drive and develop a technical relationship with critical decision makers within Victrex global and regional accounts, giving technical support to these customers including the co-ordination of technical analysis, translation and validation of designs and prototypes, applying a broad range of design and control tools bespoke product and process training to customers and Victrex employees.

• You will collaborate with the Sales teams in defining and delivering targeted account plans and align activities to close sales targets and resolve barriers to business growth.

• You will deliver technical support to customers during performance validation and scale-up phase of product qualification, collaborate with Internal and Customer Product Design teams in collating application data for design and will provide problem solving capability with respect to PAEK application through internal design optimisation and in customer use.

• You will identify opportunities for new product design (NPD) at customers through network based insight problem solving and collaboration with the market facing team and define and deliver validated value propositions and product solutions.

SKILLS

As a Senior Technical Service Engineer, you will have the ability to identify and support opportunities at the customer account level. Working with the Victrex Sales team you will build technical relationships with Victrex customers and their supply chain, providing both proactive and reactive technical service to these customers.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering technical service programs, delivering technical support for all markets within and across the European region. You will facilitate technical analysis and validation of designs and prototypes at customers and give technical support to customers during industrialization phase of new opportunities. Leading business customer-focused technical activities including quality standards, specifications, compliance, complaint management, regulatory matters plus testing and qualification are also important aspects of the role.

REQUIREMENTS

Graduate level degree or higher in materials science or relevant scientific discipline is desirable. You will have proven customer interface skills and the ability to deliver technical solutions, new applications and existing services.

Established industry experience of delivering technical solutions to meet strategic objectives would also be an advantage.

In-depth technical experience in the field of high-performance polymers and/or engineering thermoplastics, along with proven problem solving, critical thinking and analytical skills are also a requirement. You will be inquisitive in nature with the confidence to challenge the status quo through effective written and verbal communication and influencing skills.

A knowledge of high-volume processing techniques including injection moulding, compression moulding and extrusion will be beneficial.

The position will be fully remote based in Germany. The salary range is between 65.000 EUR and 85.000 EUR according to experience and education.
